| movable parts roster Ya the titans lost some really good people like Derrick Mason,Samari Rolle,Fred Miller, and Kevin Carter. The rest were expendable because they were oft injured or used little(Joe Nedney, and Eddie Berlin. It was tough to see the Oil...(Ah Titans)lose these players...time waits for no one...But we still have the best Quarterback in the NFL(World,Universe) in Steve McNair and with Adam Pacman Jones in the defensive backfield making things exciting and proving to be a star in no time and with injured players(Peter Sirmon,Zach Piller,Erron Kinney, and a host of others ready to come back strong, the Titans will be contenders again. The draft helped to add some talent, youth and depth for this franchise that has seen a lot of changes since the near SuperBowl win 5 short years ago. We lost some great coaches but I think the Titans still have one of the best staffs(led by Jeff Fisher arguably the best in the NFL). They make average players good, good players great and great players into stars. With Keith Bulluck and PacMan Jones we have two great players on defense and with the defensive front being almost totally rebuilt we have some promise of greatness. I see that in Randy Starks,Antwan Odom, and to lesser extent Bo Schobel and Travis LaBoy. I think LaBoy will be utilized much more as a rush guy from a 2-point stance. He has great speed...The coaches have some work to do on defense and to lesser extent on the offense since they will have only Tyrone Calico and Right Tackle(Micheal Roos) moving into starting roles for the Titans. We needed some new blood and sometimes you have to let people go that you don't what too but times they are a changing...The Titans will do some different things like line up both tight ends(except that Ben Troupe will be going down field alot and Erron Kinney will be going into motion like an H-back. Both however will need to block. Kinney will do bulk though since he is bigger stronger and best able to handle that duty. I like the receiving crops we have with Drew Bennett and Tyrone Calico though Calico has never assumed starting duties before. The youth the Titans drafted at the receiver post gives us enthusiasm, and depth and maybe a gem or two. This team will rise up again to SuperBowl levels maybe ths year, probable next year... |
