Crawford to DL

The Tampa Bay Rays have placed OF Carl Crawford on the 15-day DL.

According to the Associated Press, "Crawford left the club in Seattle and headed back to Tampa for an examination by team doctors. Crawford injured a tendon in his right middle finger making a check swing in Saturday night’s 11-inning win over the Mariners." To replace him, the team activated Rocco Baldelli.

Re: Crawford to DL

Shoot that could be a big hole in that Rays offense for now.

Re: Crawford to DL

Wow. That sucks for the DRays. If its any longer than 15days that will really hurt their offense. He hasn't been great this year but he is alot better than any other guy they could bring in like Gomes. Gomes has alot of power but thats it, he strikes out alot and just doesn't hit for a high enough average to make an impact for a team in a pennant race

Re: Crawford to DL

It is almost wierd to say the Rays are in a pennant race but they are so some people might actually care now when things go bump in there teams progress.

Gonna be hard to get used to. I catch myself calling them the D-Rays or the Devil Rays too every now and again.

Re: Crawford to DL

Latest news is that Crawford is going to be out 6-8 weeks minimum, and quite possibly could be done for the rest of the year, including playoffs.
