ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Scott Kazmir nearly had his strong outing wasted by Tampa Bay's struggling bullpen.
Kazmir struck out 10 in seven innings to help the Devil Rays beat Curt Schilling and the Boston Red Sox 5-4 on Sunday. "It was beautiful," Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said. "None of it surprises me. I just love his demeanor right now on the mound."

Picked up this kid on waivers in my fantasy league...10k's and a win over Schilling...the kid has big potential...Lefty too...anyone high on him?

He should be on your fantasy team already since he's a great source for strikeouts. He won't win a lot of games with Tampa but he's a nice young pitcher.

Of course, he's young and has been thrown into the lions den of the MLB with Tampa. Right now, he's a .500 pitcher but he'll improve.

Kazmir has nothing but an upside. If Tampa can find someone to close, he could win 15 games. They are missing Cantu, Baldelli, Lugo and have nobody to close. They try someone new every night it seems, but they may have the answer in their own organization. Edwin jackson, the former Dodgers' phenom, is only 22 and pitching in the minors. God knows they need him in the rotation, but maybe they should try using him as a closer. Kazmir pitches well vs Boston, but he has control issues right now, as many young lefties do at that age. This team isn't that bad anymore, especially if they get back some of their stars.

I beleive he has the potenial to be an all star pitcher if he can become more consistent he sometimes to tends to have good outings and then some where he is just absolutley ****, if he can get more undecisions and a better era when he loses he will be an upcoming ace for any team and may be the next schilling from years ago.

Scott Kazmir allowed only three singles and struck out nine over seven innings for the Devil Rays, who won for only the third time in 10 games and prevented a Seattle sweep of the three-game series.

Another Strong outing by Kazmir today...the kid is looking really good...
