Kazmir Calls For Front Office To Bring In Seasoned Players

The basic story here is Scott Kazmir is making a public request to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays organization to bring in veterans who know how to win. Kazmir is entering his first year of arbitration and won't become a free agent until 2010 so he's with the team for at least another 2-years barring a trade.

He talks about how losing so much gets into the psyche of a player.

OR a Cub...they are willing to shell out the dough...sad really...though the Rays do have a lot of good young players...I guess they are a minor league affiliate of the bigger clubs...

Trust me, many teams would be willing to spend money on the kid if he stays healthy.

Hey, good for Kazmir. Everyone knows you're a great pitcher and you're quickly becoming the face of the team, so why not step up and try to make them better, competitive. Here's hoping things work out for the kid and they can add some veteran talent to go with those snazzy new unis.

They have a young talented team and they are quickly becoming one of my favorites. I will be pulling for them to win the AL next season. They will be in the race with Kazmir and Shields. That is as good a 1-2 combo in baseball. If the D-Rays listen and bring in some help, they will be tough to beat.

I can't believe that playing a few games at Disney is just not enough for these guys...geez...what more do you want?...
