| Kazmir sets franchise strikeout record Tampa Bay Devil Rays P Scott Kazmir struck out a franchise-record 13 batters in yesterday's 14-3 win over the Oakland Athletics. "I really just want to be in the game as deep as I can," Kazmir told reporters afterwards. "I only knew I had (the record) once I looked at the scoreboard to look for my pitch count. | Re: Kazmir sets franchise strikeout record I think Kazmir has 3-4 more years before he can hit free-agency (if he's arbitration eligible at some point, perhaps 2 more years until the D-Rays may look to trade him if they can't afford him)...but if he stay's healthy he will rack up a lot more k's. Devil Rays have some solid young pitching prospects in the system, it should be interesting if the record will last for long. |
