| Tampa Bay ends one losing streak, starts another? On Friday, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays beat the Kansas City Royals 6-5 to snap an 11-game losing streak. Yesterday, they apparently got to work on a new one, falling 8-7 to K.C in a wild one.
According to the Associated Press, "The Devil Rays led 6-4 going into the eighth but Jay Witasick and Casey Fossum combined to walk the first five batters of the inning, and Billy Butler's RBI single gave the Royals a 7-6 lead. Tampa Bay then tied in the ninth with the help of a catcher's interference call." And then Mark Grudzielanek hit an RBI single off Shawn Camp with two out in the bottom half of the inning to knock off the D-Rays.
"This game is crazy," Royals manager Buddy Bell told reporters afterwards. "You never know what's going to happen next." |
