I think they'll get it worked out, but what does Tampa want with Lidge? That's a big contract for very little output.

Re: Lidge to Tampa

Maybe they are thinking they know what is wrong with him, and their coaches can figure it out. Houston should try and get something for him. He is worthless the way he is.

Re: Lidge to Tampa

If I were Houston, I would jump all over that. I don't see why Cantu has been demoted. He had a great 2005, but had a nagging injury in 2006. He didn't really get a chance this year.

I don't get it. Lidge already looks washed up. But it's Tampa we're talking about - not quite the poster team for competent management.

They seem to love washed up athletes.

Re: Lidge to Tampa

i think the rays owner has money to spend, but i like what there doing, imagine this team if they can keep them togther in 3 years, they have a great outfield young, crawford and bodelli, the infield is imaurai(sp) upton and carlos pena and navaro and a ss i dont like defensivley or offensivley i like pena in the field only. There pitching rotation is getting better, i think in any other divison right now they could be a real threat

Re: Lidge to Tampa

The Rays are looking into financial matters, rather than winning.

Re: Lidge to Tampa

what is this th second year undr the new owner, and what you rather do have them go spend 11 mil a year on a career 500 pitcher like the royals? now if he spends the money to keep crawford i think this is a rebuildign if thy dont, there just ****ed for years
