| Halpern ruptures ACL Jeff Halpern suffered a ruptured ACL, Grade III sprain of his MCL, and a slight tear of the lateral miniscus in his right knee on Tuesday while representing the United States in the IIHF World Hockey Championships in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Halpern, who had been captaining the American squad, sustained the injury late in the third period of Team USA's 5-4 loss to Canada when his skate got caught in the ice as he was being sandwiched by Brent Burns and Rick Nash of Canada.
