| Garcia on Gruden: Good Riddance It’s safe to say that Tampa Bay Buccaneersquarterbacvk Jeff Garcia won’t be exchanging Christmas cards with former coach Jon Gruden in the wake of Gruden’s recent firing. As far as Garcia is concerned, it’s a classic case of addition by subtraction. Speaking out for the first time last week since Gruden and General Manager Bruce Allen were dismissed with Raheem Morris named the new coach and Mark Dominik elevated to Allen’s old job, Garcia said the team “needed the change.” Garcia had become disgruntled over the Buccaneeers’ flirtation with Brett Favre as well as their hesitancy to renegotiate his contract prior to last season. “I know for me, personally, going through that with him was a very difficult time, disappointing time,” Garcia told WTSP-Ch. 10, per the St. Petersburg Times. “But the one thing that I always tried to look back on or reflect on was that I wasn’t the first and I won’t be the last. If it continues to be this way with players, it is going to get to a point where somebody who is above or in control will say, ‘Enough is enough.’ I think that’s what it got to. “There are players who were here … before I got here who had their own experiences of how they were treated or how they were misled. For the two years that I was here, I enjoyed my experiences on the field with Coach Gruden. But there were some things that obviously rubbed me wrong. And I’m sure they were not easy to deal with.” Finishing off his verbal attack as if he was engineering a long, methodical drive, Garcia said that Gruden should be held accountable for the Buccaneers’ late-season downward spiral that cost them a chance at the playoffs. “Statistics don’t lie,” Garcia said. “When you look at how the team played in December, when you don’t finish strong like you need to finish, and especially when you’re in a playoff hunt like we were this year, we have to be accountable as players. But everybody has to take responsibility. “With Jon being … the head guy here a number of years and having different players come in and out and yet the end of the season not really changing as far as how the team is finishing … then that’s something that needs to be focused on. And you need to find answers. And if the answer was changing the head coach and changing up the staff a little bit, then that’s what they had to do.” http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/...good-riddance/ Um, guess he wasnt a fan of Gruden's either. I'd say that is some pretty strong talk, dont you think?

| Re: Garcia on Gruden: Good Riddance Michael Clayton and Stylz G White had some disparaging remarks about Gruden. Not too mention Keyshawn, McCardell, and RB Coach Art Valero. The guy is an ☻☻☻☻☻, and I for one am extremely happy that chapter of Buccaneer football is over. Sadly enough, there are Buccaneer fans out there that loved Gruden more than the team, and are extremely ☻☻☻☻ed he was fired. What complete tools.
