| Advice to Carnell Williams Carnell hang them up. Some people just aren't built to sustain the punishment of such a violent sport. Inexplicably some people's bodies break and tear where others would not in the same situation. It's happened to many throughout the history of the NFL. Alex Smith's knee bent in places no human body should bend against the Chiefs, and he was out a little while. Your body is just not built for this sport.
You made a valiant and heroic comeback from a devastating injury. An injury in which many thought you would never recover from. You came back in record time. You were not 100% though. The fan with the keen eye noticed. Rehab your knee. Take your time. Make sure it heals right. You are a young man with an entire life ahead of you. You'll want to run around your back yard with your kids, or maybe coach their Little League or Pop Warner games someday. You can't do those things with a cane holding you back.
Thank you for a great 2005 Season. For 3 games you gave Buccaneer fans something to stick their chest out about and brag. You gave us the joy of knowing another Buccaneer besides LeeRoy is in the Hall, even if it's just your shoes and gloves. Thank you.
Here's to a healthy fulfilling life after football. Carnell, take the money you have already earned and run again. But this time run away from football. Not even a SuperBowl trophy can replace the joy of playing tag with your 5 year old.
Best Wishes
