Re: Buccaneer records may fall in 2006

I wish more teams would follow Tampa Bay's lead and do articles like this. It's a list of all of the franchise records that could well fall this season. The Bucs records with bullseyes on their pack in 2006 are as follows:

Derrick Brooks needs to play in 8 games and start 11 times this season to pass Paul Gruber team marks in games played and games started.

Ronde Barber is 3 picks away from tying Donnie Abraham's franchise record of 31 career INTs.

If Mike Alstott catches 38 passes in 2006, he because the Buccaneer's all-time leading pass catcher. He's currently in 4th place on the list behind Mark Carrier [321], Keyshawn Johnson [298] and Kevin House [286].

Simeon Rice is 11 sacks behind Lee Roy Selmon's Tampa Bay record of 78.5; he should pass it considering this article says that Rice has had "at least 11 sacks in each of his five Buccaneer seasons."

And a slightly less likely to fall record is James Wilder's single-season rushing record, which is 1,544 from the 1984 season. It is possible that Cadallac will shatter that mark in 2006, and while I believe he eventually will rush for 1,600+ yards, I don't think it'll be just yet.
