Re: Buccaneers sign David Boston

TAMPA, Fla. - Receiver David Boston, who has missed most of the past two seasons, signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday.
Boston, a Pro Bowl selection in 2001 when he had 98 receptions for the Arizona Cardinals, was limited to five games over the past two years with the Miami Dolphins because of injuries.
All five of those games came in 2005, when he caught four passes for 80 yards before being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Anyone know why Miami didn't keep him?...Boston is still worth a look...he is a big target receiver...glad to see someone taking a chance on him...not sure the Bucs are the right offense for him. I really think Miami could have benefited from this kid.

It seems like an eternity ago, DK, but I'm pretty sure it was character issues alongside the fact that he got busted for using steroids to try to recover from an injury faster. To tell you the truth, I'm surprised to see anyone taking a flier on him... he fell pretty far pretty fast in San Diego and Miami.

See my good man, we are from different schools of thought...I am always up for taking a flier on a guy who once had it...then go to battle with a guy who will never get there in a million years...does Boston have issues...you bet!...but he was once neck and neck with Torry Holt for the best receiver out of the class of 1999...I am curious if he can still find the spark.

I can see taking a flier on a guy like that, I guess, as long as they don't invest too much money in him. It's funny, though... I finally got around to seeing Cinderella Man yesterday. You'd think after witnessing that, I'd know better than to give up on a guy when he seems down and out!

I'm more with Lefty on this. My thought when I saw this: "How desperate can you be?"

In the words of Robert Forst:

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I –
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”

That is why I am here...to offer the other point of view...
