Should Bucs, Simms part ways?

Chris Simms has announced that he is not going to the optional offseason workouts.
GM Bruce Allen says he plans to take 5 qbs to camp, but doesnt say which fivr.
The Bucs have Jeff Garcia, back up Brian Griese, Luke McCown, and Bruce Gradkowski. Dont forget the wayward Jake Plummer and the Bucs might draft a qb.
Simms appears to be healthy and ready to play. But his decision to stay away from OTA's says he thinks he doesnt have a place on this team any longer.

Scout.com: Bucs, Simms need to part ways
Does he have a place here? Or should they let him go?

Here in Florida, we seem to think its a big yes. I don't see him staying...though I see him as a back up for Dallas...

I think a change of scenery will be good for Chris Simms, it just won't work for him in Tampa anymore.

Why would he want to go back. They gave up on him when he lost his splean.

Who? The ancient Johnson??? That's not a backup...that is a career ending injury waiting to happen.

You know he wears that elbow pad so his elbow doesn't fall off.

Re: Should Bucs, Simms part ways?

Yes, they need to part ways. Simms averaged 8 batted down passes per game - very frustrating to watch. But he definitely would be a very capable backup QB somewhere else...

Re: Should Bucs, Simms part ways?

Maybe Bill Parcells would want Simms for the Miami Dolphins. As it stands I don't live in Florida but from a non Buccaneer fan it seems like his place on the team is no longer there.

Career ending injuries can happen to anyone. Even younger players like Simms who almost had a total career ending injury. As it is, his career isnt over, merely on the skids.
