| Where in the world is the rest of Ted Williams? Since everyone reading this doesn't know me, I'll go on the record and say that I am a die-hard Yankees fan. I don't care too much for Boston although I do respect their team. I like the Yankees AND the Red Sox of old, especially Ted Williams. As a matter of fact, I just bought a 1958 Topps card of him today and it got me doing some thinking. Now I can track down where Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, Joe Dimaggio and Lou Gehrig are buried, but can I do that with my all-time favorite Red Sox player? NO! To carve up one of the all-time greatest hitters (not to mention decorated war hero) is not only a crime against baseball. It's a crime for any person with a warped mind thinking that in the future that they can bring someone back to life. If that's the case, let's dig on Johnny Unitas and shock him a couple of times so that maybe he can help out the Colts this season. I know it's football season around here, but I just had to get this off my chest before I settle down and watch my Yankees cruise to another post-season appearance. I'll settle into football when Tim Couch and my Browns (I'm from Kentucky so it's the one team in football closest to me I'll root for) Start doing well. I'm done preaching now. Sportscenter is on. |
