Bucs still pursuing Plummer

Even though they acquired Brian Griese in a trade with the Chicago Bears on Mar. 3, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers still are attempting to lure quarterback Jake Plummer out of retirement.

Tampa Bay general manager Bruce Allen told PewterReport.com on Wednesday that the team would welcome Plummer in if he decided to play for the Buccaneers at some point this offseason.

The Bucs have talked to Plummer this year, but whether he intends on coming out of retirement to play for Tampa Bay in 2008 remains a mystery.

I think Gruden has lost it. They do have other needs than quarterback.

This may be the only story more maddening than retirement rumors. Hey Gruden, the guy doesn't want to play anymore. Let it go already.

And it's not like Plummer is Brett Favre. I don't get it.
