Usually I'm pumped for the Bucs vs the Panthers, but I agree with you Simon, I'm not as excited for this particular game. The big question is if Gruden will rest Garcia again for half of the game. I certainly hope not; I want them to win, and with the Panthers being a division rival, Gruden should want to destroy them, seeing as how until this season the Panthers have beat the Bucs on a pretty regular basis.

As for the Bucs being bounced out early: they have a very good chance of beating the Giants in the first round. Two strong defenses coupled with two slightly anemic offenses. It will come down to which QB will make less mistakes. My $$$$ is definitely with Garcia.......

Yeah, I agree - if the Bucs draw the Giants (which may be a given at this point, I'm not sure), they'll win.

Re: Tampa Bay vs Carolina

The Bucs rest their starters and loses this one, 31-23.

According to the Associated Press, "Tampa Bay, which clinched its division with two weeks remaining, has lost two straight and three of four overall. Gruden insisted the NFC South champions have not diminished their chances of succeeding in the playoffs... Tampa Bay (9-7) was prevented from joining the 1999 St. Louis Rams as the only teams since 1970 to go unbeaten in division play the year after going winless."

Yeah, I was actually hoping they would've beat them to achieve that goal, if only to shut my brother-in-law up (he's a big-time Panthers fan)....
