| Tampa Bay's Alstott to miss 2007 season Mike Alstott said on Thursday he will miss the 2007 National Football League season because of a neck injury in pre-season practice. "I can't put on a helmet or a jersey this season," Alstott said at a news conference. "It's a situation you don't mess with," he added. Alstott missed most of the 2003 season with a neck injury that required surgery. He said this was a new injury. Tampa Bay General Manager Bruce Allen said Alstott would be put on the injured reserve list for this season, which means he cannot play in any games but will be paid. "He's still a part of this team," Allen said. Alstott, 33, said he would decide if he was going to retire or try to play again next year after further medical tests.
