| LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Should Jeff Garcia get hurt or perform poorly early this season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who during the offseason seemed to be stockpiling signal callers, could find themselves in another quarterback quandary. Uncertainty surrounds the health of Chris Simms, who entered last season as the starter but has since slid down the depth chart. Simms has a 7-8 career record as a starter, including 0-3 last season... In backing up Garcia, the Bucs could turn to Bruce Gradkowski, who had a 3-8 record while starting last season as a rookie or Luke McCown, who has not started a game since 2004, when he went 0-4 for the Cleveland Browns. Tampa Bay faces, of all things, a quarterback shortage - USATODAY.com Last edited by Lefty Noob : 08-01-2007 at 07:22 AM. |

| Re: QB Shortage in Tampa Bay? It seems silly, considering how many guys they have under contract. But is Garcia were to go down - Simms is injured and Plummer's inactive/retired. So it doesn't seem like they're all that strong at the position still, although I think highly of Gradkowski. He's got a lot of potential.

| Re: QB Shortage in Tampa Bay? As short as they will at QB, I still think that the Bucs will cut Simms before the season starts. I hear Simms in intervews, and you can tell he doing a bunch of spin in them. Saying too much of the right things imo is never a good thing. |

| Re: QB Shortage in Tampa Bay? From recent reports I've read from Bucs camp, McKown is playing his way into the #2 spot for now. But I would still be leery of having to depend on he or Gradkowski if Garcia goes down with an injury. |
