Went to camp today

I'm not a big fan of the Bucs, but I took my three nephews to training camp today and here is my thoughts.

A guy I saw working hard was TE K.Heinrich. I liked what I saw out of him. Big guy with good hands. RB C. Williams looked REAL good! He broke off a couple nice big runs against the D. He's got too be a big part of this team for it to be sucessful this year. Galloway caught a couple of nice deep passes as well. Garcia looked good as well, when no one is open he's not shy about taking off. He passed the ball well today. Looked like Gradkowski and McCown were fighting for the #2 spot, Simms just warmed up didn't get any rep time. I look for him to get cut. WR I. Hilliard looked lazy. WR C. Owens #17 is a little guy but was out there to prove something, I liked his hussle, but I don't know if that's going to be enough. I think everyone is looking for that D. Hester type player.

Quick story. I coach a flag football team in the bay area and we won our division. We moved on to the playoffs and the first team we played against was against John Grudens son's team. Gruden was pretty cool, I got the chance to meet him before and after the game. He didn't coach the team, his son just played on it. It was a close game in the 1st half but we blew them out in the second half and after that game we went on to play in the championship game and we won.

He was real cool. I didn't want to bother him too much I knew he was there to see his kid play. But I said hi to him and I was just going to move on, and he stoped me and said I want to thank you for doing what you do and shook my hand. I guess because I volunteer my time like all the other coaches. He signed autographs and took photos with everyone who wanted one. It really felt good to win it all. To see the joy on those kids faces is priceless! I'll never forget it.

That's awesome - too often we don't get to see the personal side of these coaches, so it's neat that he was so friendly & gracious....
