Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Torrie Cox has been suspended four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, the team announced on its web site. Cox can participate in training camp and the preseason before beginning his suspension on Friday, August 31. He is eligible to return to the Buccaneers’ active roster on Monday, October 1 following the team’s September 30 game against the Carolina Panthers.
Cox played in all 16 games last year, starting three games at cornerback and playing a major role on special teams.
A brief statement from General Manager Bruce Allen said, “We are hopeful that Torrie Cox can overcome this personal setback.”
