| Gruden Schmoozes With Fans Jon Gruden hears you Bucs fans. He hears you loud and clear, especially the fan who once lobbed this insult at him from the stands. "Hey Gruden, if your IQ was one point less, you'd be a freakin' plant." A 4-12 season gets you those kinds of insults. It was one of the many tidbits Gruden shared during Friday's Tampa Chamber of Commerce Bucs Chalk Talk luncheon sponsored by The Tampa Tribune. Tampa Bay's coach opened the event by addressing last year's disappointing season, saying he wanted to "put it to bed." "No. 1, we did survive it. We did survive it, I said," Gruden said. "Secondly, it's intolerable; it's not acceptable to perform the way we did last year. And third, changes will be made." Some of those changes included the players that joined Gruden and General Manager Bruce Allen at the luncheon - rookies Sabby Piscitelli and Gaines Adams and wide receiver Maurice Stovall. The group had fun answering some questions from the audience at the Hyatt Regency Tampa. Mayor Pam Iorio offered the first inquiry, asking why the Bucs don't use more Hail Mary plays. "It's not a real high percentage play, Mayor," Gruden said. "But whatever you say, dear, we'll do it." Stovall got one of the biggest laughs when he talked about mullets, a hairdo he was introduced to when he left his hometown of Philadelphia for Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. Piscitelli blushed when asked if he was single, noting he is, but is focused on football. Throughout the luncheon, Gruden repeatedly reminded Adams that if he sacks the quarterback, the team will be OK. The luncheon concluded with the audience signing "Happy Birthday" to Adams, who turned 24 on Friday. When asked what he wanted for his birthday, it was obvious what Adams would reply. "I want sacks for Coach Gruden," he said. Gruden, Bucs Schmooze With Fans |

| Re: Gruden Schmoozes With Fans He's really on the hotseat this year. Fans are starting to realize that it was Tony Dungy's team that won the Super Bowl for him (along with some incredible luck, playing a team that used an offense he created without changing a thing). Now he's being judged on the teams he built, and his performance has been less than stellar. Tampa Bay really needs to make the playoffs this season, or else I think Gruden is gone.
