Things are changing in the life of Jeff Garcia. He has a new team and a new bride, Carmella DeCesare.
"I couldn't be happier right now," Garcia said last week in a telephone interview from Tampa, Fla. "I felt what took place in Philadelphia put me back on the map and let people know that I still have the qualities to play at a high level.
"Then to get married, it's just a completion of me, who I am as a person, in allowing me to take that next step in my life to having a family and sharing my life with my beautiful wife."
The beautiful wife is the 2004 Playboy Playmate of the Year, Yes, he played very well in Philadelphia last year. But there's a reason the 49ers, Browns and Lions all decided to move on without him. He's 37 years old, doesn't move like he used to, and doesn't have a strong arm. He'd better enjoy his marriage, because he isn't going to enjoy the 2007 NFL season.
