Five of the newest members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who late last month were designated for assignment in NFL Europa, have been officially allocated to the teams they will be suiting up for this spring.

For the past five weeks, WR Jovon Bouknight, G Jonathan Clinkscale, QB Bruce Eugene, CB Carlos Hendricks and WR Kyle Smith have all known they will be making the trip overseas, but their exact locations were still unknown, as the nearly 150 NFL-allocated players had yet to be assigned to their teams.

That all changed Friday when NFL Europa – formerly known as NFL Europe, and before that the World League – conducted its annual NFL Allocated Player Draft. In addition, more than 100 young prospects were directly assigned to their teams by the NFL Europa league office. The assignment of kickers and punters will occur during training camp early next month and will enlarge the number of NFL-allocated players to 150.

Sorry, but the only think that jumps immediately to mind when I read this is -- they changed NFL Europe's name? Why?

I'm sure those five guys are talented players, but I just can't seem to get past the league's name change.

Cause Europe wan't cutting it. Players did not want to go to NFL Europe...but now if you are offering them Europa...well then, they are not gonig to be embarrassed telling their friends about it anymore.

With a name like NFL Europa, I half expected them to be playing in outer space.

MAybe not outer space...but they better come up with some funky futuristic uniforms...
