- You should research this a little before you do anything...check out http://www.maxpreps.com/ which is a great site for high school sports...I am pretty big on that site also.
But all in all I think this would be a great idea however you do it. |
I don't think it has yet been decided how the forum would be set up exactly. As most anyone would guess, at least initially, there will be few of them. My thought on this is to set up the "High School Sports" forum and then set up a sub forum for "Anytown H.S., California" If we actually get 5 HS's from each state that would be great, but at this point I really don't even see every state participating. I don't see any need in setting up forums for 50 states just yet since at this point we have no participation. So I guess basically what I see for now is this:
"HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS"
Anchorage High Scool, Alaska
Beaumont High School, TX
Camden High School, NJ
I guess putting them in alphabetic order would make it easiest for them to locate their own school. These are just my thought sat this point but the first thing we need is participation and this project needs to be one that involves everyone. If you want to see your school here then you can help. For myself I will attempt to write a personal letter to my high schools athletic director. Emails could end up in someones junk file and it would be a missed opportunity. We probably all have different ideas for initial contact but I feel it is very important to offer to the school contact person our website link so that they can check it out themselves. That way they can see that we are a legitimate website that in fact does discuss sports and not cars, girls, boys, movies and so on. Once we get a couple of actual schools on board it will increase our chances of getting more.
As always this is just my view and others are encouraged, but most importantly everyone needs to be involved in the initial start up process.
