I know there is already a thread about this, but GoTeamsGo needs to get a social forum. We need a place to discuss all of the non-sport related topics on our mind, cause I got plenty.

No can't do. That is not in the scope of what the owner's vision for the forum is. He wants it free and clear of non-sports related thread for the time being.

Yep .. we've been down this road a couple of times already and the constant answer is we are about sports. For many members that is why they came here and stay here.

It's been discussed, but I really can't see us adding one in the near future. If you post an introduction thread in the Introduce Yourself forum and, along with your favorite teams and stuff, would happen to mention some non-sports related interests there, that would be okay. Just no politics or hot-button issues or anything like that, okay?

For us just sports seem to work. A social forum would open up a whole can of worms we just arent interested in.
There are other forums that would meet your needs for those other things you have in mind. As was mentioned, nothing political, religious or other hot button topics here. If you havent already, it might be a good idea to read the forum rules. We enforce them strictly here.

Yeah, I see where everyone is coming from. I use to post on a different board for the Cubs, but anymore its about 10% sports and 90% other stuff, which is why I left. I was just sorta thinking of things like having to pay 3.62 for a gallon of gas (which I did today ) and wanted to see what others are paying, that sort of discussion. But I see how that could get into a political discussion and you get enough of that stuff everywhere else, so I guess it is nice to have a place to discuss sports separate of all that.

Actually Bryan88, if you go to the introduce yourself section, we have a thread called my personal corner of the world or some such thing. It was started by simple simon but we all use it sometimes to whine about the price of gas or the lousy weather we have or something like that. Again follow the forum rules. You can say something like I paid 3.62 for gas and boy am I ticked but dont get into any reasons for it. Follow?

I agree with everybody else. I come on here to get away from the everything else. I don't have many friends that are into sports the way I am, so this is the only place I can discuss it and have people care about what I say....OK not what I say, but maybe the topic.

I don't have many friends that are into sports either and I live in New Jersey! Too bad we can't all get together and watch the games. There's some realy cool people on here. It was a series on TV that ran in 2002...but was canceled after 14 episodes...I came upon it this year in DVD and I like it...almost as bad as ABC canceling Cupid in 1998...

Thus I dont know what Cupid is either unless you are referring to the little fellow with a bow that shows up on February 14.
