Although my #1 favorite is Nascar I was wondering if there is a chance for a forum for other motorsport's?

I also NHRA,CART,IRL,Open Wheel Sprint's.Other forum's of Stock Car's.

You know like keep the NASCAR forum as is then have an other motorsports forum .

To this point there has not been a lot of call for it. It is something we can monitor to see if there is enough interest.

we do talk about racing besides NASCAR now and then ...... i make sure to bring up the Andretti's once a month or so

Fact is there isn't much interest in other motor sports on this forum. The NASCAR group is really a pretty focused group on this site. Now that doesn't mean that there isn't those who enjoy other motor sports but this is a NASCAR site and it stays pretty true to its title.

Yes it does seem that Nascar is the most popular of all motorsport's. Yet people go on about how much better Indy car's are . Don't get me wrong, as like I said above ,I like Indy car's,but like you said LSC ,there isn't much interest in other motorsport's as far as posting on forum's about it goes.

I know first hand that there aren't many that have interest in NHRA as I started a forum for it ,sent at least 100 invite's out to other NHRA fan's ,yet I only have 10 member's and only 2 or 3 post .

Having the NHRA forum I have noticed that during the week there really isn't much to post about news wise ,just mainly on the weekend as the event's are occurring . UNLIKE Nascar that has constant news with MANY,MANY website's to catch bit's and piece's of news and thing's to post and talk about in message board's. I have 55 Nascar news site's bookmarked . I have only found 2 for NHRA news.

dont get us wrong Flip ...... it is possible to get new forums or sub-forums ..... we just recently added the Boxing/MMA forum as you may have seen the announcement

if you would like a sub-forum start some threads say for NHRA/IHRA .... and if the become popular you are well on your way

UFC has become fairly popular on the forum so it seemed the forum for it was warranted

hey, ya never know ..... you could be responsible for a new forum here on the site

though, as LSC pointed out, dont get your hopes built up too high ..... it may or may not work ........ but, if you want it thats how to go about getting it

I think we talk and post about indy and others more than we think, but not enough to warrant a seperate forum for them, its sorta like rodeo, not much happening there, been trying to post some articles but nobody really goes there..

last rodeo I went to I didn't see a single laptop or PDA... maybe the cowboys and girls aren't into the 'net.

but seems to me we might be missing something. there's lots of fans of other types of motor racing besides Indy. there's the Baja type desert racing (that Robby Gordon does so well in), and the Rolex series (24 hrs of Daytona) that several of the NASCAR guys have driven in, all the dirt track and asphalt short track things all over the country including WOO, ASA, NE Modifiedsm etc, looking elsewhere there's F1, Australian Super Cars, rallying, ... then there's motorcycles .. boats .. tractor/truck pulls .. monster trucks .. the list goes on... maybe an "Other Motorsports" forum might be worthwhile. then if one or two particular types gets popular, break them out into their own forum.

Well here is the thread to make your point with. Keep it alive and active and you just might get your wish.

My guess is that it'll take more than just a few postings of news articles. Actual discussion will garner more attention than stories with links.
