You guys should get some post icons on here for each team. I know that would be alot for all the pro teams, but it looks cool to see them.

If you don't know what they are (you probably do but just in case I'll explain), the post icons are the list right below the post message box. On vBulletin, you can change these and add more to them. You can get some very good ones from ESPN, they have transparent backgrounds. They look like this:



I just thought I'd let you know because its very cool to use these, especially in the forums like General Football.

No like when you post a thread or reply look right under the actual message box. There are things called "Post Icons".

In general, we've stayed away from doing more graphics, my opinion is that we try to focus more on the conversation & less on the bells & whistles.

I decided to go with a more minimalist approach, at least for now. We updated the main forum page with team logos a while ago & I had about the same # of compliments as I had complaints.... so just confirmed that you can't please everybody all the time

I'll just pipe in and say that I enjoy the discussion far more than an Icon of the team/sport. If I didn't know what the Red Sox icon looks like then it might be useful but my experience tells me that on this forum the members are far more interested in info and discussion.

But what do I know ???

They look nice and are cool to use at first, but I've noticed that I don't even use the smileys anymore. It is a novelty that wears off. I would just rather read and discuss sports.

Thanks for the Reds as an example though.

I agree with azrael, the smilies novelty has worn off. I hardley use them anymore.

but seriously, some peoples feelings seem to get hurt if you dont put after a comment so they know youre kidding

Especially at first. After a while you get a feel for the flavor of things and kind of know that people here are just generally kidding.

aah, actually, I was trying real hard to avoid saying anything like that. I have noticed that it keeps showing up. Not to mention any names or anything.
