| NHL Playoffs: Game 5 What an awesome game 5 in the NHL Playoffs! This is the 1st Stanley Cup game that I've been able to watch pretty much start to finish and I'm so pumped up! I thought the Oilers were toast when the Hurricanes got the power play in overtime but then Oilers got a turnover and Pasani made an increidble shot to win the game. Are all these games that exciting?

| Re: NHL Playoffs: Game 5 I wouldn't say he got lucky. And it wasn't off the crossbar it was off the left post. His pad was there in the corner and he would have saved it if it was an inch or two more to the right. I can't believe Stillman blew that pass and that power play. Recchi made a beautiful play to draw the penalty and Stillman flushed it down the toilet. A short handed goal in OT in the Stanley Cup Finals? Has this ever happened? I am still in utter disbelief. |

| Re: NHL Playoffs: Game 5 hehe, there's this thing called "Merge Threads" that you can do if you're one of the chosen few was that goalie really only 20 years old?

| Re: NHL Playoffs: Game 5 Yes Gotham I can give the Oilers credit. The only reason why Ward had four saves in the first fifteen seconds of OT is because the Oilers "pressed the issue" and it wasn't lucky. I'm telling you, look at the replay on nhl.com if you have to. The puck was off the POST, the LEFT POST, not the cross bar. And yes Ward is only 22 and a rookie. Okay just checked, the highlights aren't up there yet but later on, like tomorrow check it out. Repeat after me Gotham....LEFT POST. http://www.nhl.com/scores/index.html |

| Re: NHL Playoffs: Game 5 It's the game we were waiting for. Both teams were on high gear. And finally some hard hitting - Weight AND Ward taken out - any news on them? Oilers had to take it to them. Plus they finally scored on their power play. Shut down no more. I'm proud. Fernando and Pronger, and my hat's off to Jussi. And every time a puck hits a crossbar or a left or right post, the goalie mentally wipes his brow and thinks, Whew, was I lucky. |

Pisani's breakaway goal was the first overtime, shorthanded goal in Stanley Cup Final history. It also was the first overtime, shorthanded goal that prevented a team from being eliminated. |

Yeah Pete...I saw the game...it was the post...I just called it the cross bar. |

| Re: NHL Playoffs: Game 5 I still think that even if the shot was enough to the right to go in that Ward would have stopped it. The replay showed Ward's pad right on the edge of the net. He had it covered. The Oilers shot well in this game and yes blueandwhite the Oilers really took it to the 'Canes physcially. You can tell in the OT that the 'Canes were winded. The Oilers are a much bigger and more physcial team. WHERE IS BRINDAMOUR? |

| Re: NHL Playoffs: Game 5 You know, I missed the game last night, and I'm not the world's biggest hockey history guru or anything, but I'm stunned that Pisani's game winner was, according to the AP, "the first short-handed goal in overtime of the Stanley Cup finals." It's NEVER happened before? Amazing. I bet Cory Stillman feels pretty lousy about that pass today, eh? |
