Re: Stanley Cup Finals: Penguins vs. Red Wings

Still, the Flyers looked good against the Frozen birds for one game. We'll see if the Pens can carry over that great performance to the next series!

I'm looking forward to seeing the next game. I haven't been able to watch any, due to other commitments.

Re: Stanley Cup Finals: Penguins vs. Red Wings

I think Homer (Holmstrom, for those of you not knowing his nickname) was interfered with, in that third period when he got pushed into the net, he was simply skating towards the net when Gill did that. He didnt have the puck, nor was he in his office at the time it happened.

but when he was pushed in, he dived!! I mean, come on, Osgood is a better actor than Holmstrom, ,,and Ozzie only dived like once? Homer wasnt hurt. Everyone knows aside from the goalie Homey wears more padding because of the risks of living in his "office."

Good game though. Fleury was an animal last night, did you see some of those saves? Awesome. Its no wonder he was a star of the 3 stars.

and Im glad to see Franzen is feeling better, he even got himself a goal.

ahahahaha....and now my father has to cook my breakfast, I knew all along the wings wouldnt win in 4. He said its gonna be the wings in 4.....

oh crosby. 2 goal for him. I finally figured out who this little kid reminds me of. Jagr! Jaromir Jagr. I used to watch Jagr in 1991 - 1992 when he won cups with mario, and Crosby kind of has his style.

I loved those cross checks on Homer though by Gill.....yes it was illegal and yes he deserved to be in the box but I enjoyed that.

btw I have a rep on another forum for being the Holmstrom hater because I hate him so much.

So I enjoyed watching Homer eat it xD

that's hilarious - the bet if Detroit didn't sweep was a home cooked breakfast? Enjoy!

Game 4 is underway. No Holmstrom for Detroit, and the game is tied 1-1 in the first after scores by Hossa and Lidstrom.

Re: Stanley Cup Finals: Penguins vs. Red Wings

Well, we're done. Detroit beat the Pens 2-1 yesterday, holding off Pittsburgh on a long two-man advantage. Even though the final score was close, the broadcaster observed that it looked like the Pens were chasing the Wings all night, just trying to keep up. They were right. Pittsburgh never set the pace, they were never in control. It was always Detroit's game to lose. So I pretty much conceiding the Cup to the Wings at this point. They've just far and away been the better team. Even the game the Penguins won, Detroit was in it until the very end.

Re: Stanley Cup Finals: Penguins vs. Red Wings

so holmstrom doesn't play and still - Detroit is unbeatable. Take a big pillar in their massively frightening line, put in an alleyway fighter in the 4th line and it makes little or no difference.
Now with the next game in Detroit - feel like it's done.
Hossa'a had a great series, though.
