| If the Red Wings can get Zetterberg back and healthy early enough before playoffs start, they will do sweet. The Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Holmstrom line is one of the best in the NHL, so if that line gets going, the western conference better watch out. |

| The Atlanta Thrashers are definately going far in the playoffs this year. It's only right that such a young team making it to the playoffs for the first time in franchise history and packing such talent as Marian Hossa, Illya Kovalchuk, Slava Kozlov, Zhitnik, Dupuis, and Kieth Tkachuk. Not to mention the best young netminder in the league... number 32, Kari Lehtonen. This team has the youth excitement, the veterine prowess, and the turnaround speed to open up any game... not to mention the fan force backing this pack of win-ready scorers. Blueland is bringing home the cup. and oh yea, we're hosting the all star game next year too. what a combo! |

| Re: 2007 Playoffs Here is how it breaks down. Calgary vs. Detroit. Ok first of all, yes I am a Flames Fan so yes of course they a going to win the cup!! Nashville is way over-rated and they now have to face San Jose in the first round. San Jose will dominate with the presence of Thornton and Marleau up the middle. They are a very big and solid team throughout. I'm sure Nabokov will stand on his head, if not Toskala is probably one of the top back ups in the league. SJ in 5. Anaheim will take down Minnesota fairly easily. Although Minny is very quick and have Gaborik playing very well, they have no way of stopping Pronger, Neidermayer, Selanne, McDonald etc... Too much fire power for Minny to handle. Minny will sqweek in 2 wins though. ANA in 6. Buffalo will dominate the Islanders. Way to much for the Islanders to handle. Enough Said. BUF in 5. The series that is most intriging is the Sens and Pens. I really think that Ottawa will be able to get past them only because of there inexperience throughout the line-up. The only guy who may be able to turn this series around is Gary Roberts. If he can get them going they just might have a chance. Ottawa with Heatley, Spezza, and Alfredsson, they will be very hard to keep off the scoreboard. Goaltending is also very if-y in this series so really whatever goaltender can keep there team in the game will win this series. But I really think it is Ottawa's year to shine. SENS in 7. VAN and DAL will be a tough battle that will go 7. Luongo however will steal the series for VAN. Turco lets his team down yet again. The rest of the series do not mean much. Atlanta will beat the NYR in Round 1 but that is as far as they will go. NJ will defeat TB but then will get beat out by OTT. In the East: BUF vs OTT Eastern Conference Finals OTT in 7. In the West: CGY vs SJ Western Conference Finals CGY in 7. Stanley Cup Final: CGY vs OTT An all Canadian Final with Calgary defeating the Sens in 7. Calgary will bring it to who ever they play. When you look at Calgary and it's premier goaltending and rock solid defense you can't help but be scared. No one want to play the Flames!! We are healthy with no injuries. With the scoring the Flames have picked up for this year they are going to be really tough to beat as long as they play that hard nosed style of hockey that the Flames are use to playing when it gets down to the nitty gritty. GO FLAMES GO!!! |

| New NHL champ could lurk in East The Southeast Division provided the winners on each side of the seasonlong lockout - Tampa Bay in 2004 and Carolina last year. The Lightning and Hurricanes earned top seeds in the Eastern Conference, then beat upstarts from the bottom of the West. Sixth-seeded Calgary got to Game 7 against Tampa Bay, and No. 8 Edmonton repeated the feat versus the Hurricanes. If another bottom-rung club makes a run, don't be surprised if it's a team closer to the Atlantic Ocean instead of the Pacific. "Every team is dangerous," said 19-year-old Sidney Crosby, from the fifth-seeded Pittsburgh Penguins. "You always look at teams that finish off strong. It's all about timing." You don't have to look any farther than Long Island to see that. The New York Islanders appeared out of the playoff race following noncompetitive losses just over a week ago to powerhouses Buffalo and Ottawa in the aftermath of goalie Rick DiPietro's concussion. Yet, they bounced back with four straight wins and eked into the playoffs ahead of Toronto and Montreal on the final day of the season by beating New Jersey in a shootout. Now they have their sights set on top-seeded Buffalo, which earned 113 points and had the NHL's best record for the first time in team history. "It's all about opportunity in this game," said Islanders forward Ryan Smyth, acquired from Edmonton at the trade deadline. "We didn't quit, and obviously I was an added extra piece to the puzzle to help the organization get in. That's all you can ask for as a player is to get in."
