Interesting. According to this story, "Thursday's contest marks the first-ever preseason meeting between the Colts and Rams, franchises that date back many years in NFL history. The clubs have clashed 41 times in regular-season play dating back to 1953... The Colts will be making their second trip to St. Louis. The Rams posted a 42-17 win over Indianapolis on December 30, 2001. The teams met last year in Indianapolis, with the Colts producing a 45-28 win on Monday Night Football." So do the Rams have a shot to dethrone Peyton Manning and company?

Apparently, the answer is yes, they do. And they did, winning the game 19-17. The running game looked impressive, according to the AP: "Steven Jackson, playing just the first two series, carried five times for 41 yards, including runs of 16 and 23 yards... The backup running backs were good, too -- Tony Fisher carried five times for 33 yards, and Fred Russell had a 54-yard run in the third quarter."

So the Scott Linehan era's off to a good start. Can the Rams maintain this level of play?
