Re: Vikings and Rams face growing pains

Linehan has a bright offensive mind, but the Rams biggest problems are on defense. St Louis finished 30th in the league in total defense last year and 31st in points allowed. A rebuilt secondary and linebacking corps are likely to struggle early, giving new defensive coordinator (and former Saints head coach) Jim Haslett headaches galore as he looks to make over a defense that lost former No. 1 picks Damione Lewis, Ryan Pickett and Adam Archuleta to free agency.

Anyone think that the Rams have done enough this off season to over coem the losses they have had to their defense?

They'll be alright: they have La'Roi Glover, Corey Chavous, Will Witherspoon, Tye Hill... all four of those guys are going to be huge for the Rams in 2006. Plus Haslett is a good coach, so I'd expect St. Louis to have a good D.
