Steven Jackson holdouts of Rams' camp

Rams running back Steven Jackson has said this off-season that he wants a contract extension, and as of this afternoon he officially became a training camp holdout.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Jackson’s agent, Eugene Parker, engaged in late-night negotiations with the team in an effort to finish up a contract extension, but so far they have not reached a deal.

Rams coach Scott Linehan said he considers getting Jackson extended a priority.

“I know within the last couple days there has been dialogue,” Linehan said. “Our hope is that will be done pretty soon.”

Well, didn't see this coming. If this winds up going into the season, I'm gonna be awful glad I dealt him.

Yeah I was just gonna say that being the lucky recipient of that deal! I wanted Stephen Jackson almost as bad as I wanted my broken foot to heal overnight! Now look what happened...don't feel bad Lefty. 70% of my team is either holding our (Grant, Jackson) or hurt (Gates, McNabb?). Simon is going to have a great time annihilating me week 1 and I can look forward to finishing last. However remember that I didn't pick this team. Bad year for FF. Lot of holdouts and injuries.

Yeah... I guess maybe I should've held off on the draft, eh? Our lineups could well look much different come opening day.

Normally i'd say yes but since I have broken foot cabin fever having this lineup is fun to mess around with. Next year I suggest the first weekend in august. Too much going on as of now and it is indeed going to make a lot of the players we drafted irrelevant. Still are the Rams that delusional enough NOT to pay their workhorse??

Oh and please next year let the people who WANT to pick have the ability to pick and not have the computer ignore the choices they typed in. That was so frustrating!!!

Totally out of my hands on that one, Dusty. If there was any problems, it was on Yahoo!'s end. I didn't even show up until later.

Re: Steven Jackson holdouts of Rams' camp

Word is that Antonio Pittman is picking up the offense pretty quickly and they have Brian Leonard for short yardage situations and to play fullback. Jackson might be losing some leverage here.

Re: Steven Jackson holdouts of Rams' camp

Lefty unloaded a quarterback he hated and a runningback that refuses to play to me in the FF league here! Plus he got a good QB in Phillip Rivers and a good runnningback in LJ. Lefty you really should have thrown in a couple of bottles of Tylenol in the trade with all the headaches Steven Jackson is giving me!!

Ha ha ha... sorry, man. Still, what is the holdup here? St. Louis has to know they're worthless without him. So just pay the dude and be done with it!

Re: Steven Jackson holdouts of Rams' camp

This is the worst holdout of the upcoming season. I mean the two sides barely said anything to each other. Jackson will not be the starter come opening day that's for sure.
