Rams claim Gradkowski

Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting that the St. Louis Rams have claimed for Bucs QB Bruce Gradkowski on waivers. The Bears and the Raiders also put in waiver claims but the Rams had priority based on having the worst 2007 record of the three teams.
Gradkowski will compete for the number 3 job behind Brock Berlin.

I am thinking this might have been nice for the Bears.
Well, almost anything would be nice for the Bears, right?

Re: Rams claim Gradkowski

Gradkowski's not really what the Bears need right now. He's got a high upside, but he's still a work in progress.

So he would be exactly what they have now, a work in progress.
Of course, the high upside is an improvement.

Can't argue with that, but I can't help but feel the window's closing for these guys. They need a veteran who can win now.
