Post Rams fantasy football forecast

So here is some advice on some of the St. Louis Rams’ players whose name you should here at some point during your draft.

Let’s start with Steven Jackson. Jackson, is a fantasy football machine, (I should know I’ve had him on my team the last two years). Last season Jackson had over 2,300 yards from scrimmage and 16 touchdowns. This year he is predicting 2,500 yards, which would break the NFL record set by Marshall Faulk in 1999. I believe he could do it too. Last year’s tattered offensive line should be healthy and back intact. Jackson has the strength to take the ball between the tackles and has the speed to break it outside. Jackson also led all NFL running backs last season with 90 receptions.

There is no way you should let Jackson slip past the fifth pick, and if you are in a keeper league, here is some advice- keep him! He may not be in the caliber of perhaps the best running back of all-time like LT. But he should definitely be chosen in the first half of your fantasy draft. You will not regret your decision, unless he blows out his knee in Week 3.

Rams’ quarterback Mark Bulger is generally known as one of the most underrated players in the NFL. He is equally under appreciated in most fantasy drafts. Bulger is one of the most consistent players in the league.

In 2006, he threw for over 4,300 yards with 24 touchdowns. This is year two in head coach Scott Linehan’s offense. Last year he also proved that he could avoid the injury bug that had plagued him early in his career.

I predict a monster year from Bulger, adding weapons like Drew Bennett and Randy McMichael to a roster full of veteran, possibly Hall of Fame talent is an explosive combination. Bulger should be picked no lower than the fifth quarterback taken. Look for Bulger to be drafted in most leagues around the third round. Manning, Brees and Brady will be taken very early. After those three top players, it will generally cool on quarterbacks ‘til the third or fourth round. My advice is to reach for Bulger in the third round if you haven’t already taken a quarterback. If you decide to wait until the fourth round to grab him, you will have stolen him from the idiot who valued Michael Vick over him.

The Rams receiver corps will go down in the annals of the NFL as the greatest pass catching talent in the history of the game. In 2007 I believe they got even better.
