Baseball fans don't need to have the record books erased to know who did what and under what circumstances. It is up to each individual to recognize who they wish to as the true home run champions. I choose Maris and Aaron, and don't need any other proof that the other guys cheated than what my eyes have told me over the years.

Aren't illegal drugs prohibited by baseball and McGwire did steriods that you could buy at a drug store and WERE NOT against MLB's rules? If so leave Mac alone. If the drugs were illegal than give him the Bonds treatment if you so desire. I mean baseball purists want to ban players nowadays who drink protein shakes you can get at a health food store because Joe Dimaggio didn't drink them back in the days of the dinosaurs. Besides, baseball is riddled with steriods. Players who are obvious and others that you don't and baseball still breaks attendance records and pulls in good ratings so the public really doesn't care about steriods. Cold hard fact that seems to be true. Mostly sports writers are the ones who care who's job it is to have a subject to get the public angry about something.
