The Cardinals have signed starting pitcher Joel Pineiro to a two-year deal worth $13 million.
Rotoworld's take on the signing: "Amazing what two months of quality pitching can do for a free agent these days. Pineiro hasn't had a quality year since 2003, and prior to August and September, he hadn't even had a solid run of starts since May and June of 2004. If the Cardinals actually think they know what they're getting here, they're crazy."
All I know is Pineiro flat out dominated the Mets the last week of the season. But then again, so did a ton of other pitchers.
