Scott Rolen returns

Scott Rolen returned to the St. Louis Cardinals lineup yesterday.

According to the MLB.com, "Rolen's return to active duty started slowly but ended spectacularly. He was 0-for-3 in the first six innings, beat out an infield single in the ninth and then hit a three-run homer in a five-run 10th. It was his first long ball since June 18 and only his fifth of the year." Rolen insists he's fine, but there still seems to be some concern over his surgically repaired shoulder.

Re: Scott Rolen returns

I gave up on him a long time ago. I have no confidence in his health any longer.

Yeah, he definitely does seem to be the fragile sort. I think the homer is a good sign for him, though. LaRussa's not happy with him, I know that.
