"The St. Louis Cardinals agreed Friday to a $19 million, two-year contract with center fielder Jim Edmonds, their first major move since winning the World Series," the Associated Press is reporting. "The 36-year-old Edmonds had filed provisionally for free agency on Nov. 2, awaiting a decision by the team on its $10 million option, which carried a $3 million buyout."

So, good idea to keep Edmonds around? His numbers were down this year...

I know he's close with La Russa and all but I would've gone in a different direction. He's been too hurt recently for me to count on him to be an effective player throughout the year. Plus, $9.5 Million for two years...a bit much if you ask me.
