Detroit is down to their last chance. Trailing 3-1 in the World Series, they will send rookie Justin Verlander to the mound. The Cardinals, looking to clinch their first baseball championship since 1982, will counter with Jeff Weaver. Weaver is on full rest thanks to Wednesday night's rainout, but then again, he was the pitcher of record for the Cards only loss of the Series to date. So what do you guys see happening in this one? Can the Tigers get to Weaver again and stave off elimination? Or do they pop the corks on the champagne in St. Louis tonight?

Wow MVB....not much faith in the young Verlander, eh? Though if I were a hitter for the Cards I'd be aiming straight at the mound with every swing....that seems to be the biggest hole in this series

I'll still back the Tigers. The bats have returned, for the most part....Casey really settled into that #5 spot in a hurry!! Polanco breaks out of his slump and Detroit takes it 4-1.

Top of the 7th right now, and the Cards are just 8 outs away from winning the Series. St. Louis leads, 3-2. Eckstein has 2 RBI and Molina has scored a pair of runs, while Weaver has given up 4 hits and struck out 7 in 6.1 innings. Will they be able to hold on, though, that's the question.

Wow seeing how badly the Tigers have played this series, it's tough to swallow for a Mets fan.

But the Cardinals took advantage of their opportunity and assuming they don't blow it here with 4 outs to go...congratulations.
