| Cards ownership scalping tickets? Are the St. Louis Cardinals guilty of scalping tickets? It sure looks that way, at least according to a story by Bill McClellan in Wednesday's edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. According to McClellan, "If you pay a fee to join the team's Prime Seat Club, you then have the right to buy somebody else's ticket, and not for the face value of the ticket, but for the face price plus 20 percent... Isn't that scalping? Sure it is. The Cardinals not only do it, they do it openly... if we're really serious about scalping, let's really get after it. Let's take down the Prime Seat Club. Let's arrest the Cardinal owners." Source - STLtoday.com - Printer friendly - Either scrap scalping ban — or go after DeWitt, too He's not being serious; in fact, he's trying to poke fun at a recent story in which police officers used World Series tickets siezed at scalpers. But honestly, isn't what the Cards doing in violation of the law? How do they get away with it?

| Re: Cards ownership scalping tickets? I agree that owners shouldn't be doing it and in fact no one should but realistically how do you stop it? I recently went to a college game and scalping was being done right in front of the police. I'm guessing that there are other priorities that top the selling of tickets. The one thing I did notice from all the scalpers was that they wouldn't tell us what they wanted for the tix. You make an offer and they either agree or just say that isn't enough. Does "Scalping" involve setting a price ???
