Did St. Louis police officers use stolen Cardinals tickets to attend World Series games?

That's what a report at KCTV-5's website is reporting. According to the story, "A story in the Monday edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, citing unnamed police sources, said officers in the department's vice-narcotics unit gave about 30 confiscated tickets to relatives and friends, who used the tickets to attend games... Wilkes said nine or 10 officers are under investigation. Their names have not been released, and the officers are continuing to work while internal affairs officers look into the allegations."

After Terry Green's front-row ticket to Game 5 of the World Series was confiscated by a St. Louis police officer, Green expected the seat to be empty.

But Green, after buying another ticket for the game, found a stranger sitting in his old seat, and took a picture of him.

"I knew right away something was going on," said Green, of Westminster, Colo., a regional manager for a oil lube chain.

What was going on is now the subject of a Police Department internal investigation, and may involve 30 cases like Green's, where tickets were confiscated by police, and apparently used, instead of being kept in evidence.
