Bill Weber Out at TNT

Local paper stated that TNT has removed Bill Weber from the remaining TNT broadcasts due to a personal issue...some websites have hinted at a drunken altercation at 3 AM Saturday night before the NH race. Any other information out there??? I love gossip...

Re: Bill Weber Out at TNT

Word must have gotten around that DW's constant talking but saying nothing, the ridicuulous Hollywood Hotel and the juvenile and insulting varmint is over for the season. The following from jayski.com:
New Hampshire TV Ratings Up UPDATE: TNT's telecast Sunday of the Sprint Cup Series' Lenox Industrial Tools 301 from New Hampshire Motor Speedway earned a 4.1 cable rating and 5.555 million viewers from 1:59-5:45pm/et, the Sports Business Journal reported Tuesday. The telecast marks the first Cup Series race this season to see both year-over-year ratings and viewership gains, up 2.5% and 1.1% from last year's 4.0 cable rating and 5.495 million viewers. The race also was the ninth most-viewed telecast on all of cable for the week of June 22-28. For four Cup Series races to date, TNT is averaging a 4.0 cable rating and 5.502 million viewers, down 4.8% and 3.7% from a 4.2 rating and 5.715 million viewers last year.(NASCAR.com)(6-29-2009)
UPDATE: TNT's ratings for its coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Racing from Loudon marked the first increase during the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, receiving a 3.5 US Household rating, up 3% over the same race last year (3.4). Also, households had a 3% increase (4,003,000 vs. 3,873,000) over last year.(TNT)(7-2-2009

Seems like the viewers have possibly spoken. They'll accept even poor manipulated and orchestrated racing if it is given to them in an adult manner.

I bet it has more to do with the North-East location of the race and the Huge pool of viewers in New York area.
What are the stats like for the Glen, say compared to Sonoma?.

I would tend to agree IF we weren't going against almost an entire half season of stats. Also, I would tend to see the Pocono race as more of a home race for New Yorkers than I would Louden. Having traveled through both areas (Eastern PA/Western NY and up state NY), both have large numbers of race fans who are rabid about the sport.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you on this one, Mate. I believe the increase has to do with the TV coverage itself and not geographic area.

But I could be wrong, too and we can always agree to disagree.

Except it states numbers were up from the same race last year which I assume had pretty much the same pool of possible viewers as last year.

Re: Bill Weber Out at TNT

Unfortunately he does stuff on SpeedTv through the year, stuff like off road truck races etc....stuff that I normally would watch except he's involved.

Re: Bill Weber Out at TNT

Heck, I watch NA_CAR every week. Except for the All-Star Race. That's on SPEED. And I don't have it on my cable package.
