"The Haircut" gone?

Just got this bit of potentially good news from jayski.com:
No Bill Weber in the TNT booth today: TNT will not have Bill Weber in the booth for the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 today at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, according to a TNT spokesman. “Bill Weber will not be part of TNT's NASCAR coverage of the Cup Series from New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend,” said a company statement released by senior vice president Sal Petruzzi. “As this is a private issue, it’s the policy of the company not to discuss personal matters involving our employees.” Ralph Sheheen will step in for Weber on today's telecast.(6-28-2009)
Not sure if Shaheen will be much of an improvement but he can't be any more of a "drama queen."

Re: "The Haircut" gone?

Last week when Kasey won the Toyota Save Mart XXXX he actually said "and Kasey Kane wins the Dodge Save Mart XXXX" when he crossed the finish line.

I wonder if this has any bearing....

Re: "The Haircut" gone?

Atleast Weber will be gone... I'd rather have BP bak in the booth

No. The word I read was that there was some sort of a public altercation at his motel Friday night and TNT put in Shaheen for PR reasons? I have no details and am going only on what's being reported, so the whole thing might be someone's dream.

But, fact remains, "The Haircut" wasn't there and, as far as I'm concerned, wasn't missed, even though Shaheen had less than 24 hours for show prep.

The worst thing about today's telecast (besides the consistent missing of the action in replay, was the infantile bickering between Larry McIlliterate, Kyle and Wally over the tired and totally incorrect referral of double file restarts as "Shootout Restarts." I side with Wally and am glad he had the class to not even utter the erroneous phrase.

Pretty much. He also talks like he is letting you in on some big secret that only he could possibly know.

What's funny is I news searched his name to see why he wasn't there and I got a decent amount of links about people who had fights/physical disagreements with him all thru his career.

That's what I saw too. Normally if somebody is going to be out, they at least mention why at the top of the show. They say it's a private issue, but no one even acknowledged the fact he wasn't there. It got me wondering.

Re: "The Haircut" gone?

I'm cool with either one. But if I had my druthers, I'd pick the FOX crew.

They probably didn't want to say "Well Weber was drunk last night in the hotel bar acting a fool" If that was the case all I can say is,at least he wasn't drinking and driving.

Re: "The Haircut" gone?

Well I hope that he was fired so we don't have to ever see him again. You would think after all these years he would know the drivers names.........

Re: "The Haircut" gone?

OK for the first 13 weeks of the season we complained about digger and the fox crew. Now we are picking apart TNN. What does NASCAR fan want?
Maybe we should dig Neil and Bennie up!!

No worries... ABC/ESPN takes over soon.... Gentleman start your blogs!!

As much as this is an affront to those who only wish to discuss their drivers and never venture a disparaging word about anything connected with NA__AR,
YIPPEE!!!

Hopefully Weber is gone for good. Now, take a closer look at Larry McIlliterate.

No comparison between FAUX and TNT, when it comes to realizing what works and what doesn't. Thank you, TNT.

Re: "The Haircut" gone?

Ralph will do a good job, I hope Bill is gone for good, he is boring as hell.

I like Larry Mac, he makes even a lug nut seem interesting. Stop hating on Larry
