UPDATE 2: Martin Truex Jr. will be named on Tuesday the newest addition to Michael Waltrip Racing, multiple sources confirmed on Saturday at Daytona. A press conference including sponsor NAPA is scheduled for noon at the team's Cornelius, N.C., shop. Truex is in the final year of his contract with Earnhardt Ganassi Racing. NAPA, the long-time sponsor of team owner Michael Waltrip, will be become his primary sponsor. Waltrip will move from a full-time to part-time schedule that will include the Daytona 500 in February. actually it's a good move for Truex. it's not lilke EGR has been doing such a hot job of waving his flag...and everyone knows Mikey is an expert at getting his drivers and sponsors names before the public.

Just about what I predicted back on 6/27: "He'll give up his seat but make an announcement that he'll run a few selected races on a quasi-"Farewell Tour" next season. That's my prediction, anyway."

It's a good move for Truex...He has always had to play second fiddle with dei first with Jr. and now with JPM there. At least at MWR he will have a good shot at being top dog. I don't see much difference performance wise between EGR and MWR...But one (MWR) at least seem to be heading in a positive direction

You all should agree that if Michael had better equipment today that he would still be winning races, he has faced many hardships in his small time as a NSCS car owner, and Reuttimann has proved he can be succesful in nascars top levels. The fact of the matter remains that as long as there is Hendrick, Roush, and Gibbs equipment on the track other organizations will find it hard to compete with them, I mean Kurt Busch has only recently as in this year found success because of the new dodge engine. This business is about Equipment and People !!! I used to be a faithful Waltrip fan and I remain a Fan of him and his operations. His efforts and cheerful sense of humour will never be forgotten in NASCAR. We will miss you Mikey = (

Truex's move should be right up your alley them. He'll give MWR a really solid team of drivers ("The Franchise," Truex and Ambrose). They might be second banana on Toyota's team pecking order but I think they get enough help that they could be a real force. Just a little more strength in the leadership department and they could all three be contenders.

I think a key factor will be how Mikey functions as a non-regular driver and primarily a team owner. If he's like his brother and only want to be the star of the show, that could be a problem.

I could be wrong but time will tell.
