NASCAR Driver Michael Waltrip Comes to West Hollywood for a ''Hair Makeover'' on Wednesday, August 30, 2006
--(BUSINESS WIRE)--City of West Hollywood:

WHAT: In a case where reality is stranger than fiction, Jonathan
Antin, celebrity hair stylist, will give famous NASCAR
driver Michael Waltrip a "West Hollywood" hair makeover,
and hopefully, turn Waltrip into a NASCAR-style icon.
Jonathan Antin is the star of Bravo's "Blow Out" and owner
of Jonathan Salon West Hollywood. Waltrip will arrive at
Jonathan Salon West Hollywood, located at the corner of
Westbourne Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard in West
Hollywood, in his signature NAPA-branded NASCAR stock car.
Santa Monica Boulevard is also a part of historic Route 66,
a highway known for its rich history and car-oriented
culture. Waltrip will be greeted by Jonathan Antin, West
Hollywood Mayor John Heilman, and members of the West
Hollywood City Council in front of the salon.

"We are encouraged that NASCAR is attempting to change its
image," said West Hollywood Mayor John Heilman. "This is an
opportunity to provide greater acceptance and understanding
among all NASCAR fans," he continued.

This summer NASCAR is enjoying a more diverse appeal, in
part as a result of Will Ferrell's new comedic film,
"Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby." NASCAR is
one of the world's most popular sports and has come to West
Hollywood, the "Creative City," to appeal to a more hip and
urban audience. This event is to promote the NASCAR NEXTEL
Cup Series SONY HD 500 at California Speedway this Labor
Day weekend. California Speedway is located near I-10 and
I-15 interchange.

I think they mentioned some outrageous price he paid for that so called haircut he got in NY. They probably sold him a bridge when he was there too!!

I remember that too when he said it on some show (Inside Nextel Cup?) with Dave Despain, but the next week he still had the same mop. That may have been the show where he was sitting on that stool with no socks on. What a non-driving goofball.

Their still trying to reach that unreachable mark of filling the stands at that damn place. 2 things φφφφ me off about this.
1. They took the Southern 500 away from it's rightful place and gave it to those city slickers from the west that don't give a damn about Nascar(excluding those members on this forum that are from the west).
2. They gave a second date to a track that has yet to sell out a race, when there is a track that doesn't have the first date that sells out every Busch race since it's inception(Kentucky).

They cant even sell out a football game, which is why the most populated area in the country doesnt even have its own team anymore.
