I'm a few weeks ahead of the schedule. But I just got my tickets to Daytona. I decided getting cheap tickets to the race was better than sitting at home doing nothing for the 4th. And since I live down the road I convinced myself to spend the $. Ya know they're not selling the Superstrech tickets because they don't fill the stands.

What a great race day! Ugh but it was killer hot for most of the day. My husband and I roamed around the haulers for a while. Saw Biffle on stage. Saw the RaceDay crew before the show started. We didn't hang around too long due to the insane heat.

Our seats were kind of low, we were in turn 4 but we got to see the cars coming around the corner then a lesser view of them heading to the S/F line. But we had a big TV in front of us so we could see all the action and we were right by a speaker so we could hear all the commentary.

Of course the people watching was awesome as always. Next to us was a young guy that came to the race alone apparently. Lucky for me he was a Gordon fan, but he was very drunk, he fell asleep for part of the race too .

Before the race Richard Petty actually walked along the fence in the grandstands so we got to see him, that was cool.

Everyone was really into cheering for Tony each time he took the lead. And of course the crowd went absolutely nuts at the finish. When they hauled away Kyle's wrecked car our section booed at it being towed to the garage.

Overall I had a great time. Even though Jeff was just riding around for a long while. The end made it worth it. I'll post my pics below.

Oh I forgot to say that on one of the cautions, someone hit the wall near us and a piece of the wall hit my husband in the leg! We looked for it but couldn't find it. But there was wall debris all over the track. Crazy!



That and I actually saw two people wearing Digger shirts, shame on them.
