| Getting a NASCAR radio home near where I live Is there anybody using this forum who is from the Twin Cities area (Minneapolis/St. Paul and adjoining suburbs)? I have tried and failed for about a year to get a local AM or FM station to carry NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing live because I do not have cable or satellite television service despite the coming switch from analog to digital television (my household uses a converter box). I am asking any local NASCAR fans who want Sprint Cup racing on free radio to contact their favorite radio station, tell everyone they know about it, and anything else they can do to get the word out about this issue. |

| Re: Getting a NASCAR radio home near where I live Here is a link to all the MRN stations:Motor Racing Network Radio Stations - Listen Online It isn't listed by area so you might have to do some hunting. Here is a link to the PRN (Bruton's track's) affiliates. It IS listed by area. I don't see anything in the Twin Cities, though. Performance Racing Network | Affiliates | Station Listings Someone suggested SIRIUS or XM. I have SIRIUS and it comes in handy when I'm away from a TV and want to follow the race. They use the MRN or PRN feeds but it lags real time by about 5-7 seconds.(If you want to watch on TV but get the play-by-play of the radio. SIRIUS has a dedicated NA__AR channel and you get phone-in NA__AR shows 24/7. Satellite radio is worth the investment, for a multitude of reasons. I wouldn't be without it.

| Re: Getting a NASCAR radio home near where I live Another bonus to Sat radio is you get about 4-5 channels each race of team communication. It rotates around each week. Another channel of the NASCAR offical radio. So if you want to know what the problem is or where the debris it tells you. It plays the regular broadcast and only cuts out when they say something. |

| Re: Getting a NASCAR radio home near where I live I don't think I explained myself well enough. I was really asking for ways to find people near where I live who want NASCAR racing on AM/FM radio and ask them to contact their favorite local radio stations saying that is what they want. I am willing to do something along the lines of setting up an account at a social networking site (i.e. Facebook) or calling in to a local radio show. With this new information, what suggestions do you have? |
