Most here agree that the racing has become secondary over the last couple of years, so why not exploit the current "matinée characters".

- you have Jr. aka my name is Earnhardt, who has way too much money to be interested in racing.
- you have the crazy kid aka Baby Shrub, could be the best racer ever, with a mentality of a 5 year old.
- you have Smoke, the little (HMS satellite) team that could, and the new all around good guy, after being a temper tantrum head case in his prior life.
- you have MM the world's nicest 50 year old something, everybody's Uncle, nice guy...thank you, thank you.
- you have Flipper, who will no doubt flip out soon, it he doesn't get to flip over a win really really soon.

This is a perfect setting for a Babe racer.

On Trackside tonight they asked Jack Rousch about her. He said he talked to her the last time the rumor went around a few years ago. He said her problem was she wanted to drive cup and thought she was ready for cup and didn't want to spend time in the truck/nationwide series.

He said he might be interested if she wanted to come and run a nationwide/truck limited schedule.

Ready for Cup? LOL, I wish Roush/Hendrick/Penske or another top Tier team would load her into at Cup car and give her a try out at Darlington just to see how The Lady and Danica would work out

For me that is a very telling statement. She "THINKS" she is great. Aren't there enough big headed drivers in NASCAR now ? She isn't willing to start in a lesser series to even prove herself. Did she marry a complete stranger or did she get to know him first ?? When she buys shoes does she at least look at them and try them on or does she just walk by a shoe store and holler in "Size 6 please !!!"

Once again her totally useless stock has dropped another notch for me.

Danica to Roush? Danica Patrick will be in a Jack Roush NASCAR Ford next season, bank on it. And in the NASCAR garage here at Infineon Raceway Roush himself pondered the Danica option Friday. Patrick herself has been talking around the NASCAR possibility for several weeks now but insists she won't be making any announcement of where she'll be racing next season until this fall [after the IRL's finale in Oct]. Last weekend Geoff Smith, head of Roush Fenway Racing, talked about the Danica Patrick option. What does Roush himself think about her as NASCAR stocker? "I don't know enough about her to know how much time she'd have to spend in the Nationwide series or Truck series," Roush said. "I'd say, as a minimum, two years in the Nationwide series would be required…and at the same time she could run six or seven Cup races, to maintain her rookie status. It just depends on how badly she wants it," Roush says of any Patrick move into NASCAR. Patrick has some big advantages, Roush points out: "I don't know of any problems with Danica Patrick. Ha! I told my husband about all the crap going around about Danica. He thinks she could come into Cup series and be like a Michael Waltrip! I laughed and said who wants to be Michael Waltrip. Basically someone making money off their name but not really competitive.
