There's no question Logano and Keselowski are very talented race car drivers, but I still stand by my assertion that they are in MUCH better equipment than any of the former open-wheelers mentioned.
I'm not going to hijack this thread with my personal feelings on Sourdough (aka sliced bread, aka useless, aka Logano), but lets just say I feel like he has less talent than anyone on the track.

Re: Danica Patrick to Nascar....Again?

I think the point being made is that Danica coming to NASCAR is a PR gimmick, 'cause no one (except her and her mom) thinks she has any chance at all of doing well. It doesn't matter what equipment she has, or which crew chief, or which team, or which owner .. she isn't nearly as talented as the current crop of open-wheelers in NASCAR, so the best she could hope for is to trade licks with the back markers. And any sponsor who put millions up, would quickly leave when it became apparant she just wasn't going to be much better than "almost chosen"...

And, if truth be known, I'm pretty sure Danica and those who are "handling" her know that. So this is just a dust devil (whether fed by her "handlers" or her "worshippers" to up her "worth" to IRL) .. it'll die sooner or later with nothing more than a whimper .. and a new one will take it's place next time her contract renew time approaches! (We need to learn from history!)

Talented ... yes, but still due to the lack of cup experience they are out of their league. Danica would be even more out of her league.

Re: Danica Patrick to Nascar....Again?

Danica Patrick to sign with Ganassi? Chip Ganassi is supposedly working on a deal at the moment that would not only keep open wheel racing's biggest name away from the clutches of NASCAR, it would likely advance her ascention in Indy cars. Ganassi is considering signing Danica Patrick for a third car on the Target team for 2010, joining Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti. Ganassi didn't return phone calls Wednesday but his veteran lieutenant acknowledged adding a car for Patrick could be possible. "We've always entertained having a third driver if we could get the comparable funding that Target provides us," said Mike Hull, managing director of Target/Ganassi. "If Danica has something and wants to talk to us, that would be great because I think she's ready to take that next step. But I can tell you we haven't spoken to her." Patrick's three-year contract with Andretti-Green Racing, which was sponsored by Motorola to the tune of $21 million, expires at the end of this season. And, if she wanted to test the waters in NASCAR down the road, Ganassi could slide her right into one of his seats on the team he shares with Teresa Earnhardt.(Robin Miller/SPEEDtv)(6-11-2009)
UPDATE:Danica Patrick will be in NASCAR next season. If NASCAR executives can pull it off. George Pyne -- the former NASCAR Chief Operating Officer, and thus one of the top officials in stock car racing, and now head of IMG sports and entertainment, the high-buck talent marketing agency – and key NASCAR executives are together working the entire Sprint Cup garage trying to put together a package for Patrick to run NASCAR next season. Finding sponsorship is quite likely not the big issue, as hot a property as Danica Patrick is. (MikeMulhern.net)(6-15-2009)

In other words, they're trying to find SOMEBODY who wants to deal with Queen Danica. I suspect they're finding very few who even want to talk her (and they're probably the "lesser" teams, aka "non-Chosen".)

Would someone show Danika the door and make sure it whacks her in the butt on the way out? Bikini and all. Did anyone notice how long Sarah Fisher lasted in the West Series? I think the only reason those two have rides is there are not many drivers out there. The teams that got them have scraped the bottom of the barrel and thats what come up.
As a matter of fact, it was one season plus a couple races. But lack of talent was not the reason she came to the West Series, nor the reason she left:
Quote:
2004 IndyCar Series

On February 24, 2004, it was announced that Sarah Fisher would drive for Kelley Racing in the 88th Indianapolis 500. The Team Cure Autism Now (CAN) Foundation car was sponsored by Bryant Heating and Cooling, TrimSpa and Checker's/Rally's. Fisher started 19th and finished 21st for Kelley Racing. She completed 177 laps, of 180 laps run, in the rain-shortened race won by Buddy Rice.

[edit] 2004 NASCAR West Series

After Fisher was unable to convince sponsors to fund her IndyCar Series efforts, and unable to get out of her contract with uncompetitive Kelly Racing, sponsors stood in line to fund a NASCAR effort. Bill McAnally Racing signed Fisher to the a three-year contract the first of which she would compete under the radar in the NASCAR West Series. McAnally, a veteran car owner in the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series with three consecutive series championships (1999, 2000 and 2001) to his credit. She would make her stock car debut in the race at Phoenix International Raceway on October 3. she drove the No. 20 NASCAR Select by NAPA Filters Chevrolet in the Subway 150. Fisher will join BMR at Phoenix as a teammate to Austin Cameron, who was second in the championship standings at that time. The event was the 10th in a 13-race schedule for the series that year. Fisher qualified 14th but, during the race, was forced to give up her position in the 28-car field to fix an inoperative radio. Even though she started last, she worked her way into ninth place before car problems beset her, and the crew pushed it into the garage on Lap 120. She finished 21st.

[edit] 2005 NASCAR West Series

In 2005, Fisher captured four top-ten finishes in her first full season in the NASCAR West Series in 2005, capturing the stock car racing series' Rookie of the Year title. She finished the season running in 12th in the chase for the NASCAR Camping World West Series title which made her eligible to compete in the 3rd Annual NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway. She finished 11th in the race. She was also voted the Most Popular Driver in that series, making her a four-time Most Popular Driver Award winner.

[edit] 2006 IndyCar Series

After Fisher was unable to put together a full NASCAR program, Fisher decided to move back to Indianapolis and refresh her name in the IndyCar Series and prepare for a full-time 2007 program.

Has there been a race this year that he wasn't spinning across the track, yet?
hmmm... it would seem to me that if that were true, then the whole IndyCar group of drivers should not venture out of Tony George's sight for any reason, cause Sam's one of the more successful drivers in IndyCar history - more reason for Danica to stay where she is:

If a three-time Indycar champ like Hornish has yet to achieve significant success in NASCAR, how well do you think someone like Patrick, with her one fuel mileage win, will do if she’s racing a car she’s completely foreign to against guys like Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards. I’m pretty sure they’d leave her in their dust.

Until a contract is signed somewhere, the media will speak all year of “What’s Danica going to do?” … But it’s pretty clear to me that she’s going to stay in Indycar, doing what she does best, most likely at the same team.

Can NAS_CAR and the IRL just make a swap? They take Kyle Busch, and we get Danica Patrick. I'm sure most guys would go for that.

Re: Danica Patrick to Nascar....Again?

I'm one of the guys who would NOT go for the swap. And I've stated my opinion of Dani-babe before, so no reason to re-post it.

I guess the question is: do you want NASCAR to be about bikinis or racing?

Racing? I thought this new NA__AR was strictly entertainment, drama, and scripted thrills?

When did racing come back to Cup? I must have been sleeping?

Personally I think Gabbi DeCarlo or Alli Owens would be a beter fit but neither of them ore close to being ready for Cup.

Re: Danica Patrick to Nascar....Again?

well I believe it is a ploe to sweeten her next irl contract.
but as the talent thing goes, can we really make that asumption being we never seen her in a stock.

wasn't it tony stewart that didn't do much in busch then came to cup and knocked down 3 wins in his rookie year with a new team .
